Lofoten under the Midnight Sun

10 days | 9 nights

BODØ – SVOLVÆR – TROMSØ

The Lofoten Archipelago is a paradise for discovering the Norwegian nature and small villages under the midnight sun. Go between the islands by kayak, try your luck fishing or watch the sea eagles in the sky. The islands are anchored in the stormy waters of the Norwegian Sea, well above the Arctic Circle. This wild jewel offers a majestic mountain scenery, deep blue fjords, bird colonies and beautiful surf beaches.

Bodø is situated on a peninsula in northern Norway and offers many different adventures. Here you can paddle kayak or golf in the midnight sun. Bodø is home to around 50 000 people and is one of the most dynamic cities in the country, with a lively urban scene. For those interested in arts and crafts, Bodø has a diverse community of local artists and glassblowers.

Svolvær is the largest city in the Lofoten archipelago and the capital of Lofoten. The first thing that strikes you in Svolvær is its location. Wherever you are, whatever your look, the view is beautiful. Svolvær is the main starting point for excursions to the Trollfjord, one of Norway’s most spectacular fjords.

Tromsø is a modern city in the Arctic and a place where nature and culture are in perfect alliance. From 20 May to 20 July, the midnight sun shines all day long, allowing you to participate in various activities 24 hours a day. For outdoor enthusiasts, the city center of Tromsø is located close to untouched nature, which offers many opportunities for activities such as hiking, fishing, kayaking or trekking with sled dogs.

Keep your camera ready at all times, as you will have incredible photo opportunities.

Optional: Sea Kayaking under the Midnight Sun (21:00-02:30)

In the light of the midnight sun, we go on a maritime exploration, as the Norwegians have done since the time of the Vikings and well before. We will give you an introduction to kayaking on the beach before starting the tour. We use stable double or single kayaks that are ideal for beginners. It does not take long to master the basics! Your guides will choose a route that will give you the best chance to explore the midnight sun and marine life. The weather conditions will decide where we will paddle, but it will be on Kvaløya, just outside the city of Tromsø. This will be a good time to observe the seabirds that are very active at this time of the day. We use double kayaks, which are ideal for beginners, but you can choose an individual kayak if you have some experience and want a little extra challenge.
