The tour starts in the Estonian capital Tallinn, where it is easy to find traces from the Hanseatic era. Walking around in the Old Town will bring you back to Tallinn’s glorious past. You will then continue to Latvia and its capital Riga, the largest of the Baltic capitals with a unique ethnic and cultural richness. From Riga, it is possible to go on a private day tour to learn more about the Art Nouveau quarters or to Rundale Palace, at 80 km from the Latvian capital. Then, it is time to continue your journey to Vilnius, the Lithuanian capital. Vilnius was one of the most important cities in Eastern Europe in the 16th century, and in the 17th century it played a predominant role in the golden age of Poland before becoming an important Jewish center in the 19th century.

DAY 1

DAY 2

City tour of Tallinn with your own private guide and driver (3 hours)

You will visit Tallinn by car and on foot to see the highlights of the Estonian capital Tallinn. The tour begins by introducing Kadriorg Park and the 18th century Baroque palace of Peter the Great, the convent of St. Bridget and the grounds of the famous Song Festival. Cobbled and winding streets, wrought iron lamp posts. Gothic towers and medieval markets. Cappuccinos and WiFi. This is the famous Old Town of Tallinn. On foot, you will see the Dome Hill with the Castle Square, the Toompea Palace where the Estonian Parliament is situated, and the Nevsky Cathedral, symbol of the power of the Tsar in the 19th century.

DAY 4

The tour will give you a glimpse of the most important attractions of the Latvian capital Riga, with its historic and modern facets: the Riga fortification wall, Saeima the Latvian parliament building and the Freedom Monument. You will also visit the medieval Hanseatic Old Town and enjoy the splendor of Riga Cathedral.

Riga Art Nouveau

Art Nouveau is an international style of art and architecture that was most popular between 1890 and 1910 and Riga is famous for having the largest number of art nouveau buildings in Europe. The tour will focus on Alberta Street and the nearby west side of Elizabete Street, which are considered to be the heart of the Art Nouveau area in Riga. Wooden constructions of the time are still well preserved in some places. During the visit to the Art Nouveau Museum you will get a fascinating glimpse of an art nouveau apartment, where even the bathroom and kitchen are adorned with art nouveau elements. The Seaside Resort of Jurmala

Jurmala is the largest seaside resort in the Baltic countries, well-known for its natural treasures – a mild climate, healthy air, healing mud and mineral water. The attraction of Jurmala is hidden in its long white sandy beach which stretches for 33 kilometres and its large pine forest, which forms a natural border with the city and the river Lielupe. In Jurmala, you will discover a beautiful combination of charming wooden laced houses built at the beginning of the last century and modern seaside resort buildings. Lunch in Jurmala can be included. The Rundale Palace

The Rundale Palace is located 80 km from Riga and this tour will take you through the countryside to the south of Latvia. The Rundale Palace is one of the most remarkable monuments of Baroque and Rococo art in the Baltic region. Designed by the Italian architect Rastrelli, the author of the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg, the Rundale Palace was built as a summer residence for Ernst Johann von Biron, Duke of Courland, and was a favorite palace of the Empress of Russia in the 18th century. During this tour you will travel back in time and learn about the fascinating Latvian history from many different angles and how the country has developed over the centuries. During your private city tour of Vilnius you will get a glimpse of the Lithuanian capital on the banks of the Neris River, its varied architecture with many churches and the well-preserved old town, which has been declared a World Heritage by UNESCO. Like most medieval towns, Vilnius was developed around its town hall. You will visit the St. Anne’s Cathedral, the Cathedral Square, the Gate of Dawn, the oldest university in Eastern Europe and Pilies Street.

Medieval Trakai

Trakai, a small town surrounded by lakes, was once the capital of Lithuania and is proud of its rich history. Its medieval red brick castle, situated on a small island, has been beautifully restored and used to be the residence of the dukes of Lithuania. Medieval fans will surely spend quality time exploring the castle and its surroundings. This tourist destination also offers the opportunity to acquire Lithuanian souvenirs or learn more about local food specialties by adding lunch in Trakai. (Supplement: 140 EUR per person – Duration: 4 hours).

Kaunas and the Monastery of Pažaislis

This visit to Kaunas, former capital and the second largest city of Lithuania, will make you discover the historical old town and its surroundings. Kaunas was an important economic, academic and cultural centre of Lithuania due to its location next to the two largest rivers of the country: Nemunas and Neris. During this excursion you will also visit the monastery of Pažaislis and the monastery church. The Monastery of Pažaislis is the largest monastery in Lithuania and the most magnificent example of Baroque architecture in the country. (Supplement: 240 EUR per person – Duration: 8 hours).
