6 days | 5 nights

Rovaniemi is the capital of Finnish Lapland, located at the Arctic Circle. This Nordic region has eight different seasons, each with its special light, temperature and natural phenomena. The changing seasons offer excellent settings for all kinds of activities and walks through the snow-covered forests and on frozen rivers. Our Christmas package includes a reindeer safari, a Husky dog sledding safari and a traditional snowmobile safari. We are also happy to include a unique excursion by electric snowmobile, in cooperation with the first and only company in the world offering this kind of safari. We will also visit the Arctic SnowHotel and have a memorable dinner in a traditional wilderness kota.

Reindeer Safari to Santa’s Village (12:00-16:00)

Lapland is well-known for Santa Claus and his reindeer. What a great way to see both by joining us for a reindeer safari to the Santa Claus Village! Sitting in the sleigh pulled by the reindeer you will make the way from the reindeer farm to Santa’s Village along the snowy trails of the wintry forest. In the village you’ll have some free time to meet Santa in his office, send postcards from Santa’s Main Post Office and explore handicraft, design and souvenir shops. Awarded a Reindeer Driving License and a Diploma for Crossing the Arctic Circle, you will not forget this experience. Transfers are done by car.

Sunrise eSled Safari to Wilderness and Visit to the Arctic SnowHotel (08:45-14:45)

Join us on this unique tour in cooperation with the first and only company in the world offering electric snowmobile safaris. The eSled is silent and the only little sound comes from the snowmobile skis and a spinning track while sliding on snow and ice. We will be driving for approximately three hours including several stops along the way. Children up to the age of 14 can enjoy the ride in a covered sleigh towed by the guide’s eSled. We will then visit the Arctic SnowHotel, which first opened in December 2008 and since then a new SnowHotel has been built every year. We end the tour of the SnowHotel with a two-course lunch in the heated Kota, where we will enjoy glow-fried salmon and dessert before heading back to Rovaniemi.

Evening: Special Christmas Celebration in the restaurant

Santa will pay a visit, as promised, and hand out a gift to all children

25 December 2019

Husky Safari (10 km – Departure at 10:00 AM)

After a short drive from town, we will arrive at a husky ranch, where these friendly dogs will bark an enthusiastic welcome to you. Before departing on the safari, we will be given instruction on how to control the sleds. Children will be travelling in a large sleigh driven by a guide. One adult will be standing behind a sleigh as a driver and one will be sitting on a sleigh as a passenger. Drivers can be changed during the safari. Enjoy some hot berry juice by an open fire and chat with the head musher about these amazing northern animals once we return to the ranch.

Individual Visit to Snowman World

Snowman World at Santa Claus Holiday Village is the ultimate winter destination – a frozen world of snow and ice. Feel the fresh winter breeze, have fun in the snow, and touch the glittering ice. Get hugged by a friendly snowman and see the wild dance of the Northern Lights. Transport to Snowman World not included.

Searching for the Northern Lights followed by dinner in a kota (17:00-22:30)

Experience the Arctic night by driving a traditional snow mobile through the snow-covered forest and on the frozen river. With a little luck, the Northern Lights will appear to show you the way. We continue by minibus to a cozy wilderness kota for a very special farewell dinner. Relax by the open fire and taste some traditional cold and warm smoked salmon as appetizer. Children can fry sausages by the fire. Our chef has prepared a traditional Finnish main course, Karelian hotpot (mixed meat casserole with mixed root vegetables), together with mashed potatoes. As dessert, pancakes prepared by the open fire. You may even prepare your own pancake!
