Férias multiatividades em Bodø, Lofoten e Tromsø

9 dias | 8 noites

Bodø is situated on a peninsula off the coast of northern Norway. With around 50,000 inhabitants, Bodø is one of the most dynamic cities in the country, offering a lively urban scene. For art and craft lovers, Bodø reveals its diverse community of local artists, glassblowers, potters and jewelry makers. Due to the atmospheric conditions, there is no polar night strictly speaking in Bodø, but the mountains to the south of the city block the sun from the beginning of December to the beginning of January.

The Lofoten Islands have the shape of an arm stretching into the sea. Their innumerable mountain peaks stand proudly in the Arctic sky like church spiers, and the islands boast a number of small traditional fishermen villages. Let yourself be tempted by the local cuisine, which is a tribute to fish, seafood and lamb.

Tromsø is the largest city in northern Norway. However, the nearby mountains and fjords are so close that you can admire them from the main street of the city center.

Searching for the Northern Lights in small group (21:00– 01:00)

Go in search of the Northern lights in a small group of up to four people with our Aurora Hunter Odd-Petter. He never gives up and finds the Aurora Borealis almost every time. He will take you to his secret locations. Be prepared for a long night of several hours in the car, in all weather and temperatures while waiting for the Northern lights to appear.

During this excursion, we will visit some small islands, bays and beaches. The region is well known for its seabirds – notably the largest bird in Europe – the white-tailed eagle! Seals and otters have been spotted, but they are very shy on the Lofoten Islands. We disembark for lunch at a suitable place. Do not forget to bring your own food or snacks for this trip as well as something to drink. Please note that you must have a valid travel insurance for this activity.

Searching for the Northern Lights by Horse

Searching for the Northern lights by horse (22:00-00:00)

Welcome to Hov, facing North, without light pollution and without mountains that block the view. All this makes it into one of the best places to see the Northern lights on the Lofoten islands! We ride along the white sandy beaches, we pass past ancient remnants from the Viking era and we visit a small fishing village. A hot drink will be served during the excursion. Headlamps and warm gloves are included. No experience needed. Maximum weight 110 kg for beginners.

DAY 5

Optional snowshoe tour (10:00-13:00)

Norway is naturally the country of hiking in all its forms. It is impossible to evoke this country without mentioning its fjords. Located on the entire coastline, these are ancient glacial valleys that the sea has filled. Sea and mountain are one! Few countries have the privilege of combining these two natural environments in such a picturesque way. So if you like beautiful landscapes, human adventures, beautiful snowshoeing … this is for you. Our optional snowshoe tour is organised from early December until late March.

Optional excursion searching for the Northern lights by bus (18:00-00:00 or later …)

Are you ready for a real adventure? Before the start of the tour, our guide will analyse the weather situation in order to predict the best places for the Northern Lights to show. Most often we can find the Northern lights on the coastal islands, sometimes the clear sky will wait for us in Finland. Once we find the perfect place, we will set up a campfire and start capturing the show on camera. Relax with a hot drink, warm up with a hot meal, and enjoy some delicious cookies. The guide will take pictures during the visit and make sure you have your perfect picture with the Northern lights. If you decide to bring your own camera, the guide has tripods available and will help you set up the camera. The photos taken during the visit will be sent to you the next day. The duration of the tour can vary from 6 to 9 hours, depending on the weather.

DAY 7

Husky Safari (09:45-13:45)– Lunch included

Dog sledding with our Alaskan Huskies is the heart and soul of Tromsø! Join us for a dog sledding excursion on Kvaløya, one of the largest islands in Norway. Enjoy some stunning views of the mountains that surround Tromsø and the Balsford and Malangen peninsula. We will drive 4 km with the Huskies, which takes a little bit more than one hour. We will also get the chance to meet our 300 four-legged friends closely and spend some time with the puppies. You can choose to go in a sled driven by a guide or to drive yourself together with another guest. After this adventure in the Norwegian winterland, a hearty dish of bidos, prepared with reindeer meat, broth and vegetables is all that the body needs. We will serve the meal in the camp around the open fire. Vegetarian meals available on request.

Searching for the Northern lights by boat (20:00-23:00) – Light dinner included

Embark on board the Marie Claire yacht, with a maximum capacity of 36 passengers, and set off to search for the Northern Lights through the majestic fjords around Tromsø. Hot drinks and a light dinner will be served during the tour. Do not forget to bring a camera, warm shoes, a hat and gloves.

DAY 8

Snowmobile Safari (09:00-16:00) – Lunch included

Finally it is time for what many consider the highlight of the tour! Our snowmobile safari gives you the opportunity to venture into the wilderness and discover the mountains of the far north. We begin the adventure with a comprehensive introduction to safety and a practical demonstration. You do not need any previous skills to drive a snowmobile. All you need is a normal physical condition and a Class B driver’s license. We will drive in couples, a driver and a passenger on each snowmobile, with the option to change underway. We will drive through the picturesque mountains and through the spectacular snowy valleys, from 250 metres up to 900 metres above the sea. The trail is 15 km one way, that is 30 km in total, and we will be on the snowmobiles for about 2 h 30 minutes. Due to the dramatic topography, a reduced speed is maintained during certain parts of the tour. The highlight of the track is the Finn Ice Lake, where we can speed up and get the adrenaline pumping! If the weather permits, you can try ice fishing on the lake. At the end of the trip, we will have a hot meal and coffee in a comfortable lavvu (Sami tent) around an open fire. It is also possible to join us on our evening excursion, in order to have greater possibilities to see the Northern lights.

Optional: Reindeer sledding searching for the Northern lights (18:00-22:30)

Enjoy the peace and quiet from the nature around as you relax on the gently reindeer-pulled sled. Imagine witnessing the Northern lights dancing above while sitting on a sled behind a cute, furry reindeer. According to the Sami people, the northern lights have a sound. Sit quiet and listen – maybe you can hear it too! The natural wonders can sometimes be predicted but never guaranteed. The lack of urban light pollution allows you to thoroughly enjoy the splendors of the night sky. After the sledding adventure, you will enjoy a traditional hot Sami meal, see and learn about Sami artifacts and hear stories and joik (traditional Sami chanting). The camp is established and run by authentic Sami people with long reindeer herding traditions.
