Multi Activity Holidays in Rovaniemi

8 Days | 7 Nights

Rovaniemi is the capital of Finnish Lapland, located at the Arctic Circle and the home town of Santa Claus. This Nordic region has eight different seasons, each with its special light, temperature and natural phenomena. The changing seasons of Rovaniemi offer excellent settings for all kinds of activities and walks through the snow-covered forests and on frozen rivers: reindeer safaris, dog sledding safaris and snowmobile safaris. Go searching for the Northern Lights. Try ice fishing on a frozen lake and learn more about the Nordic fauna at the Ranua Wildlife Park. And although the Christmas period takes place only once a year, you can experience Christmas in Rovaniemi throughout the year.

Electric Snowmobile Safari Searching for the Northern Lights - Photo and copyright Aurora E-motion

Evening: Electric Snowmobile Safari searching for the Northern Lights (21:00-00:00)

Electric snowmobiling is an innovative new way to experience the splendor of the Arctic without disturbing the quiet peace of winter nature. We are happy to cooperate with the first company in the world to offer electric snowmobile safaris, a sustainable way to experience and explore the purity and silence of Lappish nature! We will drive through a beautiful winter landscape in complete silence with the headlights of the electric snowmobile. We stop for a break in the middle of the black forest. As the guide lights a campfire, we will listen to stories and facts about the Northern Lights. Enjoy a Lappish snack break and grill sausages over the fire while watching the sky above you. With a bit of luck, we might catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights.

DAY 5

Morning: Excursion to Ranua Wildlife Park (09:00-13:30)

At the Ranua Wildlife Park you meet the endangered arctic species like the polar bear, the arctic fox, the snowy owl and the musk ox, greatly threatened by climate change. Learn how those species are protected and also how injured animals are nursed and cared and let back in to the nature! Ranua Wildlife Park is a Zoo but is also committed to protecting endangered animal species and helping encourage people to be part of protection programs.
